How can I unblock myspace from a library?

Chances are they have a block on it. I'd compain to someone if I were you. Being a patron and resident of that library district, you (or your parents) are paying taxes to them and seeing that this is PUBLICLY FUNDED they aren't supposed to filter. You have rights. To those who think they know, FILTERING IS NOT A LAW.

The library is there for the public. Guess what? They WORK for you! Not the opposite. Trust me, I know.

Bottom line: They have no right to ban what you view on public internet computers at your library. They can merely suggest that you not view sites deemed socially unacceptable and based on what is writted in their exclusive internet access policy, then they can take action against you. That however, is supposed to be for the perverts out there who surf for porn, not someone who wants to check out their Myspace. You are only binded by the user agreement you signed before you were allowed to use the computers.

If I were you, I'd find someone in charge and get a good excuse from them as to why they are filtering and if they know it's against the law and your rights! They are violating your first amendment rights to free speech and expression. If this doesn't work, go to the library's director or the library board. Don't let them do this to you! At the same time, don't be stupid on the computer, don't add to the problem. Read a book!

Peace-

How can I unblock myspace from a library?

This question is seriously asked 150 times an hour here.

And the answer is simple.

You don't.

You can try to use a proxy, but any Net Admin worth his skin will have installed a program that blocks every proxy out there.

ANYTHING you try other than that will involve illegally manipulating someone else's computer....which is a federal crime...

You might try checking up on something a little more enlightening than myspace...everything the human mind has ever known is at your fingertips...and you want to check to see if someone you won't know in 5 years thinks you're cool...

How can I unblock myspace from a library?

The reason myspace is blocked at libraries is because libraries are family friendly public buildings. There may be small children there and they don't want them exposed to any dangers so they block certain websites. This is something they have to do. legally. Plus the computer at the library is not there for your entertainment, it is there so the public can do research, find jobs, work on their education, etc.

I suggest that if you have enough time in your day to try to figure out how to hack into the computer at the library, then you should find something constructive to do.

How can I unblock myspace from a library?

The answer is you can't. And if you try, and get caught trying, they will kick you off for good, and possibly turn you into the athorities for tampering.

Best bet, is to either use a friends computer, or a buy one for yourself. Most places now days, have blocks on alot of websites especially myspace, even yahoo if they are real strict.
